Apolis (uh–paul–is) means “global citizen.”


Shea Parton has run the day-to-day operations of the business in downtown Los Angeles since Apolis became a full-time project in 2007. He controls the master schedule and designates internal roles. Shea also oversees wholesale relationships, advocacy projects, and key brand relationships. He holds a BA in business with a concentration in entrepreneurial finance from Point Loma University. Shea enjoys spending time with his wife Mary, son Everett & daughter Rel, reading, cycling and surfing.
Raan oversees all branding and creative strategy for Apolis. He also takes care of product development with regard to design. Raan holds a BA in organizational communications from Point Loma University. Raan enjoys spending time with his wife Lindsay, cycling and surfing.
Jim's entrepeneurial global career spans 45 years of specializing in brand building in the fashion industry and recently in education. What makes him stand out from his competitiors is that he is always razor-focused on people because they are his target consumers vs. focusing on price. His success hasn't come from developing or marketing new products; he is driven by the satisfaction of "delighting" his target consumers. Currently, he is a Growth Consultant and teaches Marketing at the Masters level to Business Leadership students. In addition to doing business in almost every major fashion market in the world, he has taught in Colombia and India.
Dale spent his career at the junction of creativity and commerce. After receiving his Masters in International Management he spent a decade working in commercial photography here in Los Angeles and then in Europe. The subsequent years were spent working for apparel and accessory brands – designing, merchandising, sourcing, production and importing.
Nick is a mathmetician turned marketer and advises on optimization of paid advertising strategies for Apolis. As Managing Director at Social Outlier his background ranges from Fortune 500 companies to nonprofits.
Jonah makes the Apolis online presence work, taking the brand vision and making it a reality. He writes the code and maintains the servers powering the website and online store and keeps everyone up-to-date on all the intricacies of internet technologies. Jonah studied both engineering and design and rides his vintage road bike to work every day.
Carlos helps the day-to-day operations at the Apolis: Common Gallery in Los Angeles' Art District. He holds a BA in international business from Cal Poly Pomona. Aside from his passion for menswear he enjoys playing soccer as well as making music.
Mary handles all finance matters for Apolis. She has previously worked at local non-profits in an accounting role and holds a BA in anthropology from UCLA. Mary enjoys listening to KCRW and in her free time can be found enjoying a nice cup of coffee paired with a croissant.
Jadyn is apart of the team working at the common gallery shop in the Arts District. He grew up in London, England and is currently finishing up his BA in international business from Cal Poly Pomona. When he isn't at college or the shop, he loves to read, travel, and play soccer.
Cat is part of the e-commerce team as our email marketing and copywriting associate. When she's not writing copy or sending emails she's busy reading, practicing yoga, or hugging all the dogs.
